#9: Song of the Redeemed

At a retreat, I received prayer ministry that broke through some significant areas and gave me the most beautiful picture of redemption.  It was so significant that I went to my room that night and I wrote this poem.  It's called a song, but I don't have any music for it yet.  ♪♫♪♫

Song of the Redeemed

One word spoken over every part of her life
Where there was a need for truth
Where there were lies - "unwanted", "unloved", "invisible"
Where there was disregard, anger, silence, and abuse.

Redeemed

One word spoken from the Father's heart
Over the little girl who felt such shame.
Her heart was broken, torn in two, and so afraid.
How could she ever trust again?

Redeemed

Oh how much the Father loves her. Over and over He speaks
Words of life, of healing and hope penetrating so very deep.
Beautiful daughter, princess, beloved, my bride, a rock.
Cherished.  Not a mistake.  Delicate beauty.

Redeemed

He says, "I see you. I know you. I hear you
I've seen the tears that you've cried.
I've captured all of your tears in my bottle.
I am your God.  I formed you with my hands.

I created you.  I have painted you with my love.
My brushstrokes are all over you.
You are my masterpiece.
You are mine.  You are mine."

Redeemed

One word which means a terrible price.
The blood of the Lamb was spilled.
The ransom the Father willingly paid
So we, His Bride, would be free.

Free from sin and eternal hell, yes
But oh, so much more than that.
To know and be known by Abba Father,
and all of our pain, shame, and wounds

Redeemed.
