#13: Epilogue

Well, I had an interesting experience in early 2017.  On Page #5: A Wolf in Shepherd's Clothing, I mention that two friends spoke to the senior pastor about George's behaviour.  I was never sure of the substance of that, but I was aware it had happened.

Early in January 2017 I connected on FB with my first boyfriend's older brother; let's just call him Smitty. I discovered that HE was one of the fellows that had complained to the pastor; I thought it was a different fellow.  And he had no idea what was going on with me at the time; he just knew that God told him he needed to go to the pastor and tell him that George was "a garden of poison to the young ladies in our senior class at church." However, after he did so, he was "called into [the pastor's] office at the church along with several deacons and was told Satan had gotten ahold on me and I was dismissed."

I was quite surprised.  But then I started thinking about it, and it made sense.  There were things that were 'off' all over the place with the senior pastor, I just never added them up.  Then, over the course of the next few days, Smitty filled in a few blanks.  This senior pastor, who wouldn't hear about any potential indiscretions of someone under his "leadership" (I use that term loosely) - was being somewhat indiscriminate himself; he was trying very hard to engage in an extramarital relationship with a woman in the congregation right in that same time period.  It was the mom of a friend of Smitty's, and just in the past few years he learned of this from the woman directly.  I also know another woman personally who this pastor tried to flirt with, but she shut him down immediately, and she told me of ANOTHER incident with a former church employee.

The biggest thing about all of this was the confirmation that people had DEFINITELY complained about George to the pastor - - and not only were they most definitely NOT heard, one was told that he was being influenced by Satan!!
